Resident Personal Care Support Options
Eating
Nutrition plays a vital role in maintaining strength, energy, and overall health. Our home ensures that every resident receives meals and snacks prepared to meet dietary needs and preferences. If needed, eating assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Meal preparation, plating, and direct eating support as requested.
• Provider-issued diet orders and restrictions are followed exactly.
• Specialized textures and diets are accommodated, including mechanical soft, pureed, soft, low-salt, and others.

Toileting
Respect for dignity and health includes dependable support with toileting routines. Staff provide assistance while following individualized care plans designed for safety and consistency. If needed, toileting assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Complete toileting care is delivered according to individual need.
• Bowel and bladder incontinence is managed with appropriate supplies and hygiene protocols.
• Support is available for indwelling Foley catheters, condom catheters, self-catheterization, ileostomy, and colostomy.

Walking
Mobility remains essential for maintaining independence and reducing fall risks. Our staff provide walking support at every level of need, ensuring proper use of mobility aids when required. If needed, walking assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Stand-by cueing and observation assist with standing and ambulation.
• One-person physical assistance is provided when additional support is required.
• Use of walkers, canes, and wheelchairs is accepted and supported.

Transferring
Transitions such as moving from bed to chair or preparing for bathing are made smoother with reliable assistance. Our team offers guidance, supervision, and physical support to ensure efficiency and control during these movements. If needed, transfer assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Help with transfers to chairs, toilets, showers, and beds.
• Oversight and step-by-step guidance during transfer activities.
• One-person physical or stand assist provided as needed.
• Mechanical lifts and approved assistive devices are utilized when greater support is required.

Positioning
Proper positioning supports circulation and skin integrity throughout the day and night. Staff assist with repositioning and turning to prevent complications from immobility, following each resident’s care plan. If needed, positioning assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Turning and repositioning are available 24/7 as indicated in the care plan
• One-person physical or stand assist is available when extra help is needed.
• Use of mechanical lifts and positioning devices occurs when required.

Personal Hygiene
Grooming and hygiene routines are important for health and confidence. Our home provides assistance with hygiene care while respecting independence and individual preferences. If needed, personal hygiene assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Grooming tasks such as shaving and hair care are completed upon request.
• Daily washing and general hygiene support are available.

Dressing
Clothing routines help residents stay organized and prepared for the day. Staff are available to provide support with dressing and changes when required. If needed, dressing assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Help with dressing, undressing, and clothing changes is provided.

Bathing
Cleanliness and safety are prioritized during bathing routines, which follow each resident’s preferences and needs. Assistance is adjusted according to ability, whether through showers or other personal care methods. If needed, bathing assistance will be provided and/or included in a negotiated care plan as follows:

• Bathing or showering is provided according to the resident’s needs and preferences.
• Additional personal care not specifically listed may be arranged with provider approval.
